distracted

sitting all alone
staring at the sky
distracted by his eyes
as he walked right by

she smiled but kept it unknown
how she truely felt for him
her feelings so unshown
afraid to act on a whim

for fear of getting hurt
she refused to let him in
all she did was flirt
she would not let the pain win

as she stared up at the sky
feeling so confused
he walked up with those eyes
admitted feelings accused

"i love you" he repeates
and around her he was wrapped
"with all my heart and soul
i'm far from being trapped"

with surprise inside her eyes
and weakness in her knees
she could tell they were not lies
she listened to his plees....

with feelings she could fly
they stared up at the clouds
and with little effort she would try
to be the only one in the crowds

nothing else was heard
but her quiet beating heart
and in just three words
she knew he was true to start

she knew that she could trust him
with her fragile heart and soul
so here goes nothing acts on a whim
she let her heart take control
